The Wagona methodology

A diagnostic cycle for smarter learning.

Wagona identifies strengths, gaps and misconceptions so that the next teaching or practice decision is based on evidence.

The four-step cycle

  1. 01

    Diagnosis

Collect evidence through curriculum-aligned questions and previous learning activity.

  2. 02

    Teach

Use the evidence to decide which concept, explanation or intervention matters next.

  3. 03

    Practice

Give the learner focused opportunities to apply and consolidate that understanding.

  4. 04

    BRAG

Review the updated signal, validate progress and repeat the cycle where more evidence is needed.

Reading BRAG signals

BRAG is a decision aid, not a label attached to a child.

Black

There is not yet enough evidence to assess this topic reliably.

Red

A high-concern topic that may require urgent attention.

Amber

Understanding is developing and may need moderate support or more practice.

Green

Performance appears secure, subject to continued evidence and teacher judgement.

Evidence informs people; it does not replace them

Teachers, learners and families remain responsible for educational decisions. Wagona organises evidence and makes patterns easier to see, while professional judgement and the learner’s wider circumstances remain essential.
